The project is located at the Dianchi Convention Center exhibition area, and it is adjacent to many wetland parks that are connected to the Dianchi Lake system. The design wants to recall the memories of the historical shipping culture of Kunming, so it represented the meaning of sail, paddle, weave, boardwalk, and beach into the design elements as paving materials, sculptures, etc. The site has a complicated structure condition that it is a tight area between an existing bridge and some road foundations with a tangled existing utility system underneath and overhead, so everything has to be designed within a narrow strip area. In order to eliminate the bad view from the bridge, the design created a white textured wall to create an enclosed quiet space for wandering and overlooking the river.
